Jack Dorsey Twitter account was attacked

Twitter CEO Jack port Dorsey’s account was attacked and hacked on Friday afternoon by a group that calls itself the Chuckle Squad. Twitter’s marketing communications team issued a post via Twitter.

The hackers tweeted racist terms from Dorsey’s Twitter account. The offensive tweets started being deleted not long after the attack began, however, many were up for approximately 10 minutes. The hackers also used the opportunity to promote a Discord server with an invitation link.

Reports say the tweets originated from a source named Cloudhopper. The organization helped Twitter in the past with its SMS service.

Dorsey’s Twitter account was hacked in 2016 by the security organization OurMine. The group used the hack to add a message about testing your security and safety. They then tweeted out a web link to their web page.

It looks like the same team that attacked several YouTube creators and influencers last week on Twitter. This included beauty vlogger James Charles, Shane Dawson, and comedian King Bach. The hackers furthermore allegedly gained access to Desmond “Etika” Amofah’s Gmail, as witnessed by screenshots left on their Discord server.

Many of the influencers and YouTubers at the time suggested their trading accounts were breached following a SIM card swap executed by AT&T employees.

“We are working with law enforcement, have got restored the consumers’ provider, and discussed methods to secure the account,” an AT&T spokesperson told The Verge during the harm to these YouTube creators.

Attacks on other celebrity stars and online creators have taken place on Twitter that resemble Chuckle Squad’s methods. It’s unclear if they belong to exactly the same team, but Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse furthermore blamed a hack on his Tweets consideration on his “cell company.”
